3Rivers Children's Ministries - Philosophy

The philosophy of childhood education at 3Rivers Church is based on truths and principles found in the Bible. We believe that the Bible is the Word of God given to us for learning how to live. God made the world and all things. He made each person unique and not to be compared to others. It is part of God's plan that even the youngest child grow and learn.

Church should be a happy and safe place in which each child might grow just as Jesus grew in wisdom, stature and in favor with God and man. Providing a variety of age-appropriate activities from which a child may choose can encourage a child to grow in his unique God given design. Physical, mental, social, emotional, and spiritual growth all progress in a sequential manner. This is God's plan for human growth and development.

As a child's mental capabilities expand from concrete to abstract thinking, it is then that he or she will be able to understand the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Next Generation teachers help lay a solid foundation for faith in the lives of children by teaching them Bible truths and concepts at the child's level of understanding. This Biblical foundation along with the leadership of the Holy Spirit may encourage a child to make positive responses to God.
